Diwali Celebration in My Village
Diwali is one of the most famous and joyous festivals of India. It is celebrated in the month of Kartik (October-November). It marks the return of Lord Rama to Ayodhya after fourteen years of exile and his victory over Ravana.
People clean and decorate their homes with flowers, rangoli, and colorful electric lights. In the evening, families worship Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha for prosperity. Delicious sweets are prepared and distributed among neighbors and relatives. Diyas and candles light up every house in the village.
However, the major drawback of this festival is the burning of excessive firecrackers, which causes air and noise pollution and can cause injuries. We should celebrate an eco-friendly Diwali to protect nature.
